Tips for Cleaning The Plasma Screen

*Always remember to follow the owners manual's recemmendations for best results*

  • It is advisable to unplug your unit from its power source or surge protector before cleaning your unit.
  • Never use any kind of wood-based cloth on your unit. Paper towels, tissues & toliet paper could harm your screen and scratch. Use a soft cloth, such as a micro-fiber or cotton cloth.
  • Never use a common household spray such as windex or glass cleaner, this could damage the screen's anti-glare coating.
  • Use the cloth dry first to remove dust from screen. If this method does not work, make your cloth damp with Water ONLY and clean your screen again. If the problem presists, check your owner's manual to see what is recommended.

How Should You Store a Plasma

Always remember that plasma televisions are very fragile equiment and need to be stored poperly. If the unit is continously bumped or leaned on it can damage the picture quality. If the screen becames damaged, it will dramatically effect your picture quailty. Plasmas should be frimly attached to a bracket, mount or stand. If your unit were to fall over or down, the chances of it still being opertional is very slim.

If you need to store your unit for any reason there are two options suggested:

The box the unit came in, should be able to secruly store your unit. Make sure you store it in a cool enviroment, and as dust and dirt free as possible.

Plasma Tv Travel Cases help protect your television against vibrations, or shocks. Most travel cases have a separate compartment for; the plasma unit, and accessories. By enclosing your unit in a form section will help protect your unit and keep it still during transport. The accessories section is lined with carpet to protect them.  These cases help you protect your investment

What Temperature should the Plasma Be in?

Plasma Tv's should be kept in a dry cool enviroment, to prevent any damaging effects to the unit.

  • Plasma Tv's are indoor tvs, they are not made to be mounted outside. Due the extreme tempature changes, it would create condensation on the screen, and could potentially damage the unit.
  • Plasma's can be placed above a fireplaces. However, it is good to start a fire and let it burn for a while, then check that tempature of the wall above the fireplace. If the tempature is over 90 degrees, then its advisiable not to run the plasma for long periods, or while the fire is burning because it may damage your unit.

Tips for Getting the Longest Life Out of Your Unit

  • Avoid the continous play of still images, whenever it is possible. These still images can be results of Paused Stillframes, Video Games, Websites, etc.
  • Make sure the aspect ratio makes the aspect ratio of the current program your are watching and displays full, so you dont have image retention as sidebars.
  • Avoid displaying on screen menus for extended periods of time. Such as dvd/vcr menus, cable menus, etc.
